
Guests of the Kenwood Inn and Spa have high expectations for the wine experience they will receive and sifting through the myriad of boutique wineries in Sonoma and Napa wine country is best left to the experts. Kenwood’s Wine Director, Ann Davis, has almost 20 years of experience in the hospitality industry, having spent the majority of it designing and implementing customized wine programs for esteemed hotels and restaurants including the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, where she was their Director of Beverage, Head Sommelier and Corporate Wine Director from 2006-2008.
Ann’s passion is to inspire chefs, sommeliers and servers, as well as to demystify wine for the public through extraordinary educational and tasting experiences. She has been a featured guest on television and radio programs teaching about wine pairings and has been mentioned in Santé, Business Weekly and Restaurant Wine magazines.
While Ann is a member of the Society of Wine Educators, her personal education is extensive, having studied winemaking at the University of California at Davis and achieving second level certification from the Court of Master Sommeliers with special accommodations.
In addition to her experience as Sommelier, Ann has extensive hands-on knowledge of the production side of the wine industry and has spent time in the laboratory at custom crush facilities and analyzing wine and juice in winery cellars. With a true passion for food, wine and spirits, Ann has apprenticed as a pastry chef, led innovative cocktail list development leading to recognition from such notable publications as L.A. Design Magazine and continues to provide outside consulting and writing wine lists for other hotels and restaurants in the region.
